Answers

How do I search for Sport Clubs?

  • To search for a sports club first go to the Home page or alternatively click on the link Sports Club Search in the main menu.
  • In the Sports Club Search box simply choose which Sport and Sub Sport are applicable.  Then choose whether you wish to search by venue or by club.  Next you will need to choose where you want to search by entering a club name, county, town, or postcode.  To obtain search results by distance we recommend entering your postcode.
  • Click search for your results. You will then be provided with a listings page of all the specified sport clubs starting with the nearest to you.
  • Clubs are listed by distance or alphabetically if no postcode is provided.  Click on club name to view more information on a specific club.

How do I change my search preferences?

  • You can change your search preferences by editing your search criteria in the Sports Club Search box on the side menu bar on the listings page.  Simply choose another sport, re-choose club or venue, or enter the new county, town, postcode or club name and click search.
  • The new search results will then be provided.

What is the difference between Sport Club search and Sport Venue search?

  • To provide the most relevant listings, SportsBase has created both a club and venue search.  Venue is the exact location where a sport is played, while Club is the training location of a particular sports club.  For example you may be looking for swimming pool venue, not a competitive swimming club.

How do I find more information about a Sports Club?

  • On the listings page you will see the name of the club and part of its address. In order to find out more information simply click on the name of the club.
  • A new page will then open showing details on the club, including full address and post code, website and email links where available, and contact number where available.  Further links will also be provided granting direct access to a route planner, a map of the clubs location, and the weather.

Why do some sports clubs contain more information than others?

  • SportsBase provides basic information on every club to include name of club, address, contact details, website link and email address.
  • Additional information may be provided by clubs themselves which may include promotions, training times, as well as images of the club.

How do I sign up to a newsletter for a sports club?

  • Sports Club Newsletters are only available for clubs who have activated it.  If a club has activated their newsletter, a link will appear on that clubs page.
  • To add yourself to a newsletter simply click on the newsletter link.  You will need to be registered on the site to gain access to newsletters.
  • Please note SportsBase has no control over the contents of newsletters which are created and sent directly by the sports club.
  • Newsletters are sent by email and sent periodically as the club chooses.

How do I remove myself from a newsletter for a sports club?

  • To remove yourself from a newsletter simply logon to your account, click on the Newsletters link and remove the newsletter you wish to no longer subscribe to.

What does the star rating mean?

  • A star rating is given for every club on the listings page and on the clubs own page.  The five star rating is generated from people leaving feedback about a club and choosing a rating of one to five stars for that club.
  • The rating system is there to help other members make a more informed choice when choosing a club from the listings.  By clicking directly on the star rating, feedback can be read.

How do I leave feedback for a club?

  • Leaving feedback is a simple process and is available for all clubs listed. To leave feedback either click on the stars on the listings page, on the club page, or click the feedback link on the club page.  This will bring up the page with existing feedback.  Simply click on the ‘add feedback’ link at the top, fill in your comment, choose a star rating, and click send.
  • Please note you will be asked to login or register to submit feedback for any club.  This is to stop the potential abuse of the system and ensure the most accurate and reliable feedback.
