Answers
How do I add my Sports Club to the SportsBase directory?
There are three ways to add a Sports club to the directory:
- On the listings page click on the ‘Add Club’ link in the summary box just above the start of the listings.
- If the club already exists and you wish to ‘claim your club’, simply find the club, and click on the club in the listings page. This will bring up further information about the club in a new window. Next simply click the ‘Claim your club’ link at the top of the page.
- You can also add your club by registering via the homepage or menu bar, by clicking the ‘sign up for registration’ or ‘login’ link.
What is the process to add my Club to the SportsBase directory?
- Once you have entered the registration area, choose Sports Club Client Account as the registration type.
- Enter your personal contact details, and choose a username and password. Once registration of personal details has been confirmed a search facility will be provided to search for existing listings on the club. If you clicked the ‘Claim your club’ link the club will automatically be listed. If the club has several venues listed on the database simply check the boxes relevant to the club you wish to add and the listings will be merged into one account.
- In the event no results are listed, and the club does not already exist in the database, you will be asked to fill in club contact details including name, address, post code, contact phone number, email and website link where available.
My club trains at more than one Venue how do I add additional Venues to my listing?
- Many clubs train at more than one venue. SportsBase acknowledge this and allow for multiple listings to be added and controlled from one account. Simply login and click on the ‘my venue’ link. You will be asked to enter the venue details including name, address, postcode, contact phone number.
- To add another venue for your listing simply click on the ‘add new venue’ link and complete the process again.
My Club has changed venues, or no longer trains at an existing venue, how do I change this?
- SportsBase understand venues change over time. To change or delete a venue, simply login and click on the ‘my venue’ link. You will then be able to delete or change a venue as required.
How do I add an accreditation to my club listing?
- If your club has a ClubMark or similar recognised accreditation from the national body of your sport, simply login and click on the ‘club details’ link. Enter the accreditation in the accreditation box, and click update.
- SportsBase will then contact the relevant body to confirm that accreditation. If approved the accreditation will be added to the listing.
How do I choose the sports category(s) for my Sports Club?
- SportsBase understands that your club may fit into more than one sports category. For some venues may cater for many sports. To add multiple sports categories for a club, login and click on the ‘club details’ link. You will be provided with one primary choice of sport category. If the club fits into more than one category, simply type these categories in the text box below the primary choice.
- If the sports categories available are deemed not sufficient for the sport, simply choose ‘other’ as the primary category and type a new category into the text box below. SportsBase administrators will approve all new or additional categories.
How do I create my Own Page for my Sports Club?
- SportsBase allows sports clubs to create their own mini website and customise each page by choosing from several templates ranging from solid text to a mix of text and images.
- To create your own page, simply login and click on the ‘My Page’ link. You will then have the option to choose the page name to appear in your own side menu bar. Next choose a template that suits your need for that page. This will be a mix between images and text.
- When you have chosen a template simply add pictures, and text in the designated areas on the template. Once a page has been completed, just repeat the process to add further pages such as promotional offers, training times, facilities, membership details, and updates for members and non-members.
How do I create a newsletter for my Sports Club?
- Every Sports Club has the option available to create their own newsletter. This can be easily set up in the login area and sent out automatically at the clubs choice to the registered members of SportsBase who have signed up.
- To create a newsletter simply login to the account area of the site. Then click on the ‘Newsletter’ link. Next choose a template, and then add the relevant text and images. Finally click send and it will be sent to all members who subscribe
- A list of subscribers is available to view in the newsletter section.
How do people subscribe to my Newsletter?
- Users subscribe to a clubs newsletter by clicking on the newsletter link on a clubs own page. If the page does not contain this link, simply activate the newsletter by clicking on the ‘Newsletter’ link in the login area.
- A list of subscribers is available for the club to view in the newsletter section in the login area.
Can I add people to my Newsletter?
- To stop potential email abuse or spam, a club cannot add people to their newsletter. Only a registered user to the site can add themselves to a clubs newsletter.
- Newsletters are a great way for clubs to reach potential, new and existing members. In order to gain the most benefit for your existing members we suggest you recommend them to sign up through existing club communication channels. Registration takes just a few minutes, and they may well already be a registered user of the site.
How much does it cost to list my sports club?
